Position Description

Full-Time, Salaried, Performance-Based Bonus

Location: San Francisco, CA

Salary Range: $105k – $125k / annually

Required 4 days per week in the office (Mon-Thu). Please do not apply if this does not align with you.

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled AVP of Learning and Development to support the execution of company-wide training initiatives. This individual will play a pivotal role in delivering engaging, high-impact learning programs— beginning by assisting in the development of a structured onboarding process for the sales team, followed by creating and implementing the training program within the first 90 days.

Beyond onboarding, this role will be responsible for creating and delivering technical skills training, conceptual knowledge-based learning, and development programs to support employees at all levels. The ideal candidate is a collaborator and a doer—someone who can execute training strategies with precision while having an engaging presence ‘in the room’ for impactful delivery.

This person will work in close partnership with the Quality Control and Policies & Procedures teams to ensure alignment. The three functions together will ensure employees understand expectations, adhere to standardized processes, and receive the necessary training to excel in their roles.

Responsibilities

Training Strategy Execution & Delivery

  • Support development of and deliver a robust onboarding training for the sales team in the first 90 days.
  • Create and implement ongoing training programs across departments, including onboarding for all employees.
  • Translate the company’s L&D strategy into engaging, tactical learning initiatives.
  • Deliver training through a variety of methods, in person and online, ensuring interactive and effective learning experiences.

Collaboration & Process Integration

  • Work in sync with Quality Control and Policies & Procedures teams to ensure training programs align with process standards and compliance expectations.
  • Identify skill gaps across departments and design targeted learning interventions.
  • Provide continuous feedback and adjust training approaches to support performance improvement.

Technical & Concept-Based Training

  • Develop and conduct both technical skills training and broader knowledge-based learning programs.
  • Develop ad-hoc/ongoing training for new processes and or products as they arise.
  • Maintain a structured framework for tracking training effectiveness.
  • Be part of the decision-making process for company’s new Learning Management Systems (LMS) tool.  Use the LMS and other L&D tools to streamline training delivery and impact assessment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning & Development, Business, Operations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Learning and Development, with a strong background in Lending and Sales.
  • Proven ability to design and execute high-quality training programs.
  • Skilled in delivering engaging, interactive learning experiences that captivate participants and drive retention of information.
  • Strong presence in training environments – able to command attention without overwhelming participants.
  • Experience working cross-functionally to align training with operational and quality control standards.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms and tracking learning outcomes.
  • Familiarity with a variety of content authoring tools, e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate.
  • Familiarity with video and multimedia creation, knowledge of gamification and microlearning.
  • An interest in leveraging AI in your role.
