Position Description
Full-Time, Salaried, Performance-Based Bonus
Salary: $100K-$150K
Location: West Palm Beach, FL – Required 4 days per week in the office (Mon-Thu). Please do not apply if this does not align with you.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized VP, Special Assets to join our team during a pivotal stage in our company’s growth. You will play a crucial role in our success by executing on our mission to serve our clients and investors. This position will report to the Managing Director, Servicing and presents an incredible opportunity to help build the Special Assets department at Conventus. The ideal candidate should have lending experience and have a genuine desire to go the extra mile for our customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a portfolio of criticized and classified loans as assigned, to minimize delinquency
and charge-offs - Provides quality and timely analysis and reporting, as required
- Meet with problem loan customers to evaluate the severity of the problem and develop
recommendations to improve the likelihood of repayment and minimize risk of loss to the
lender - Negotiate with debtors or their representatives to secure repayment agreements and
monitors adherence to the terms of approved repayment agreements - Obtain, manage and dispose of repossessed assets in an efficient and timely manner
- In collaboration with Head of Capital and Credit, may be assigned to lead team to manage
bankruptcy and foreclosure processes, which would include interactions with legal counsel - Collaborate with Servicing department regarding the early identification, evaluation of and
potential strategies for deteriorating loan situations to lending staff on smaller, noncomplex business purpose credits not formally assigned to Special Assets to minimize
losses and maximize recoveries - Review credit and collateral quality to determine appropriate course of action for SAD
loans. - Communicate with the portfolio team weekly and monthly on past due accounts.
- Assist with the creation and analysis of monthly and quarterly reports for the leadership
committee. - Identify opportunities and provide recommendations for department efficiencies, process
and procedure improvements, and overall team success. - Evaluate NPLs, recommend solutions, and drive results.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related major preferred
- Minimum 5 years of direct Special Asset experience within residential commercial and/or
construction lending - Demonstrate proficiency in portfolio management and monitoring, and negotiation of
troubled loans - Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Proficient in interpreting legal documents and using tools like Outlook, Excel, Word, and
PDFs. - Independent, strategic thinker with a drive for excellence and team success.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and effective in fast-paced environments
