Position Description

Full-Time, Salaried, Performance-Based Bonus

Location: San Francisco, CA

Required 4 days per week in the office (Mon-Thu). Please do not apply if this does not align with you.

The AVP, Loan Processing Team Lead will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the loan processing team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of loan files in accordance with company policies and investor guidelines. This role emphasizes team leadership, quality assurance, and operational oversight, without a focus on process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Oversight

  • Supervise and support a team of loan processors, ensuring daily tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Monitor team performance, provide coaching and guidance, and assist with escalations as needed.
  • Coordinate staffing and workload distribution to meet service level agreements and deadlines.
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members in collaboration with senior leadership.

Loan Processing Execution

  • Oversee the end-to-end processing of loan files, ensuring compliance with internal policies and investor requirements.
  • Conduct quality control checks on loan files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated processing issues and work closely with underwriting and closing teams to resolve them.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of loan products, regulatory requirements, and investor guidelines.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Act as a liaison between the processing team and other departments (e.g., underwriting, closing, sales) to ensure smooth handoffs and timely issue resolution.
  • Provide regular updates to the VP Processing Manager on team performance, pipeline status, and operational challenges.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in loan processing, with at least 2 years in a team lead or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage loan processing, compliance, and investor guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative leadership style.
  • Proficiency in loan origination systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with private lending or non-agency loan products a plus
  • Familiarity with pipeline management tools and reporting dashboards.
